Hi Anon,

I know it's really scary. Take a deep breath and take a home pregnancy test with someone you trust. If it comes back negative, which most likely it will...you can stop worrying :-)

I know it's hard, but the relief you will feel after a negative result will make you feel so much better!

Best,

Kristin

Dear Anon,

Thank you for visiting the EmpowHER community and sharing your question.

Having bleeding after a period is a normal thing after taking emergency contraception. Any kind of Emergency Contraception will have significant side effects on your body and in turn will really mess up your menstrual cycle.

One of the biggest complaints about ECP is the irregular bleeding that occurs after taking it.

It could take 2-3 cycles for your period to go back to normal again.

I hope this helps.

Best,

Kristin
