Is betadine used to treat an ear infection

19 yr old son has had long term ear tubes removed ~ he has a plugged left ear now and the last time we saw the ENT dr I believe we used betadine as ear drops to clear up the infection

Anon - Yes, some people do use Betadine to treat ear infections. Betadine is an organically bound iodine antiseptic available from pharmacies and some grocery stores. If you plan to do this please note that Betadine solution is used for this purpose, not Betadine scrub which is a soap. We hope your son feels better soon. Pat
