Are there cures or procedures for RP?the doctor said said there was nothing available to help my eyesight and its progressively worse. I have contact lenses and I have to wear reading glasses and then use a magnifying glass to be able to read anything. I

i started wearing glasses when I was two. Doctor advises nothing can be done. Is this true?

Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a severe vision impairment due to the progressive degeneration of the rod photoreceptor cells in the retina. It is a degenerative eye disease. By it being degenerative, it is characterized by progressive deterioration or loss of function of that organ. Unfortunately, there is no cure, your doctor is correct . However there are some low vision and adaptive device options.
