I found a website about Amberen and this all natural product was highly recommended by several people; most of them RN's. Is this product safe to take? Have you ever heard of the product? is it just for women who are in menopause or can someone my age (41) experiencing very minor symptons (weight gain and breast tenderness) take this product?

During my 3 months off Amberen I have noticed the hot flashes are back. I just ordered another 3 months supply of Amberen. As far as the headaches, they didn't completely go away. I am now on muscle relaxants and they are really working. (sigh) I am so relieved. :)

I am only 44 and having hot flashes several times a day and night. Not sleeping well. I haven't had a period in a few months. I have had my tubes tied, untied to have a baby and tied again. Wondering if that has something to do with these early menopause symptoms? Thinking of trying Amberen.

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy last November. My concern is that because my ovaries have been removed that Amberen may not completely help me. I have not read any post from women with a TAH and Amberen and would love to know if other women with a TAH have had a positive experience with Amberen. I am on my 13 day of Amberen and I have noticed relief in my anxiety attacks. I started having these attacks about two weeks after my TAH and they became very problematic. Since taking Amberen these attacks have basically gone away. My mood has been stablized as well. My hot flashes, however, have not yet been stablized and can come on hot and heavy especially at night. I have not had a good night sleep since my surgery and would really like to be able to sleep through the night again. I have included Estroven with this because I have read that Black Cohosh could be used with Amberen. Hopefully my hot flashes will deminish.

good luck Pejay! I hope we both find some much needed relief.
December 8, 2010 - 5:52amIt was actually my boyfriend who told me about Amberen. He works with a woman at a whole foods and I has asked him to get info about an alternative to HRT (although I was willing to take ANYTHING due to how crazy I was feeling so suddenly). I have an appt with my gyne on the 17th, and I hope to know if Amberen is working by then. I will accept an Rx for HRT as a backup plan. While it would be wonderful if this combination of amino acids and minerals facilitated my own body to work and my ovaries to do their job, I also know that I am living in a 'time-sensitive' container and my ovaries may be kaput (I hope not). I just know that I cannot function without sleep and the ability to concentrate and do my job. To us all, Abby

Hi, I too just joined this site although I posted before as the "Oldie but Goodie" of 66 years who is still flashing like crazy. Just as Abby is doing, I am also going to try Amberen. I have tried so many other products, some that were not safe, that now I figure, this is my last shot and doing something for the flashes. After reading the comments before mine, I am going to take the plunge and order the pills. I will keep you all posted on my progress once the pills arrive. I want to wish Abby good luck and hope we both can "cool off" real soon.

I am ready to try this product. I have read as many thread comments to determine others experiences; I have researched each ingredient individually, and they seem to be amino acids and minerals. I have no issue with the MSG, and appreciated the explanation about the choice to use it to potentiate the other ingredients, as well as the difference between MSG and Monosodium L Glutamate. I am an RN and I understand that certain combinations work better together. I think these ingredients are worth a try before I subject my body to HRT. However, I am having a harsh onset menopause (hyst in 1996, so I have had no 'warning signs with menses changing') and if this does not help (sure hope it does!!) I will need to take hormones. Here's to a great outcome!
