Hi Diamond,
Many people have various degrees of social fears and phobias, from mild to severe. In mild cases, individuals will still have the physical reactions to speaking in public (voice and hands shake, nervousness, etc) but they still will put themselves in social situations and know that the "jitters" will pass.

In more severe cases, social phobias prohibits the person from socializing in specific situations (or they avoid social situations all-together).

There is good news...this is a treatable condition!
You can view a list of treatments: EmpowHER: Social Phobia Treatments, and possible treatments include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and medications.
