Is this spotting you are experiencing during the time you would expect your period (meaning, during your week of inactive pills)?

Bleeding is not usually a first sign of pregnancy; the bleeding/spotting is most likely "breakthrough bleeding" (if you are not expecting your "period"), as when you miss pills, your body can experience irregular bleeding in between your actual period. It is not harmful.
