Hi,
That is a good question! One of the "symptoms" of menopause is irregular menstrual periods, which could mean less frequent or more frequent than your "usual". The medical literature often describes the more frequent bleeding as your "cycle becoming shorter". So, what you describe could be a sign of menopause.

Just to be on the safe side, let me ask: how long have you been experiencing a period every 14 days, as it could be a sign of something else. Would you describe each episode as a "period" or "spotting"? Do you have any other symptoms?

Do you have any of these other symptoms of menopause, listed on the EmpowHer Medical Encyclopedia:
* Irregular menstrual periods
* Hot flashes and night sweats
* Disturbed sleep patterns, insomnia
* Anxiety
* Significant mood changes
* Depression
* Dry skin
* Irritability
* Vaginal dryness and pain with sexual intercourse
* Difficulty concentrating
* Trouble remembering things
* Diminished interest in sex
* Frequent urination or leaking of urine
* Headaches
* Achy joints
* Fatigue
* Early morning awakening

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists online patient education brochure on ACOG's Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, "...The cycle may get shorter near age 35 years. It often gets shorter as a woman nears menopause (around age 50 years). It also is normal then to skip periods or for bleeding to get lighter or heavier."

Does this information help?
