What would you do if you were told that your cancer is inoperable? I joke with my husband that, if anything ever happened to me, just shoot me. Of course, I know he wouldn't; but, I'm not sure what I would do if I heard the word "inoperable." In this day and age of advanced surgical technology, when we can create bionic body parts, one would think we could perform medical miracles.

One woman didn't give up and sought another opinion on her rare case of leiomyosarcoma, a tumor buried deep in her abdominal cavity that wrapped around her aorta and arteries supplying blood to her vital organs.

Health Day News reported a remarkable story on a unique surgery involving the removal of the stomach, pancreas, liver, spleen, small intestine and large intestine in order to save a cancer patient's life.
