Susan shares what preventions she is taking for the future.
Susan:
The follow-up testing that I am doing now is, I have an oncologist and I meet with him every four months and whenever I go, he does a blood test, complete blood workup, and he does a physical every time. And, you know, when choosing an oncologist, I think it is really important that you feel comfortable with your oncologist, and people told me, you do not have to go with the first one that you meet. And the first one that I met had a terrible bedside manner, and I did not like her at all. And I am so thankful that I did not just think, well, that is who I have to go with, you know, and I just found somebody else and he is, you know, terrific and when he describes things to me he says, you know, it is really normal after going through cancer. At some point you are going to have like a panic attack, you know; you have some little thing that will go wrong and you will start thinking, oh my gosh! I have cancer again and blah, blah, blah and he said if it is the middle of the night and that happens to you, just call me. So that was really comforting to know.
