Carol Poore describes why senior citizens today are at an increased risk for HIV/AIDS.

At Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS we are finding more and more senior citizens being diagnosed with HIV and it is an interesting phenomena because a lot of these people were sexually active earlier in life and they may have been children of the 60s when there was more of a literal view and now they are engaging in risky sex as they get older, and some of the senior citizens, they don’t fear getting pregnant anymore, it’s just a whole new world and so we are trying to get out into assisted living situations where we can not only educate caregivers, but educate the senior citizens themselves.
