Sex with an Uncircumcised Man

I’ll be honest; I had to do a lot of research before sitting down to write this article. I have only come into contact with one uncircumcised penis during my short stint as a single adult woman, and it didn’t really seem to be that big of a deal at the time.

However, when it comes to uncircumcised (commonly spelled "uncercumsized") penises, there’s more than meets the eye . Approximately 50% of men are “uncut,” which is really how the penis is meant to be in the first place (not many men outside the United States are circumcised). Circumcision originated among ancient religious populations as a way to purify man by removing the source of his sexual pleasure. This tradition has held its ground into the 21st century, which can lead to quite a bit of confusion when a woman unexpectedly comes into contact with a penis au naturale.

It may surprise you to learn that the foreskin itself, before it is separated from its owner, is extremely sensitive to pleasure. During circumcision two very important things are removed that will never grow back: the frenulum, the band near the tip of the penis that connects the foreskin with the glans, and then of course, the foreskin and all the nerve endings that go along with it.

Not only are these sources of pleasure eliminated during circumcision, but the shaft of the penis is left unprotected and slowly loses its responsiveness through a process called keratinization. In an article published in Fathering Magazine, Rio Cruz explains that “the male glans and inner foreskin, just like the clitoris and inner labia of women, are actually internal structures covered by mucous membrane that, when exposed to the air and harsh environment through circumcision, develop a tough, dry covering to protect the delicate, sensitive tissue.”

The main difference in having sex with an uncircumcised penis is that the foreskin acts as a glider of sorts, and it stays in place while the glans and shaft continue to thrust. This leads to less friction in the vagina and thus a more pleasurable experience for the female. For circumcised men who are experiencing gradual loss of sensation throughout the course of their lifetime, there actually is a process of foreskin restoration that involves the use of tape and weights (?).

So when all is said and done, you (and your partner) are actually likely to have much better sex with a penis that is uncircumcised. If you’re performing oral sex and looking for tips, just focus your efforts on the ridge just below the glans and use your hand to help the foreskin go with the flow. That's all there is to it!

Dorsal slit and v-cut circumcisions are very rare, and many people wouldn't even regard them as circumcision. 99% of US circumcisions remove most of the foreskin, and most of them also remove the frenulum.

Either way, I think the owner of the penis should get to decide what, if anything, gets removed from it.

This statement in the article is erroneous and only goes to show how little knowledge the author has regarding the subject of circumcision. There is such a thing as "dorsal slit or V-cut" method of circumcision wherein no foreskin is removed and the frenulum is left intact. Go google it... Mine is V-cut and it's the most popular and easiest method of circumcision that I do in the office(yes, no need to be in the OR because it's just an office procedure).

My husband was the first uncircumcised I have come across. At first I was unsure and curious, but as our relationship grew, so did my appreciation for his penis. Hand and blow jobs are much more fun! There is so much more to play with! I would not encourage anyone to circumcise their newborn, and encourage women to accept the male form as it was designed.

Yes, as a woman I do enjoy the inviting quality of the easily moveable skin for hand job and oral sex. Americans need more education about this subject so that the brutal practice of circumcision is more easily seen as as an invasion. Without information parents do know what they are taking from their child.

There is a real possibility of female circumcision and mandatory male circumcision in The US some day. We only have to look to the most recent presidential election to see the path. Elections are usually determined by a difference of only a few points in voter difference. In the past presidential election, African Americans voted in masse for Obama and he was elected. Once whites controlled the election booth but no more. Hispanics now have as much or more electorial power than African Americans and this same trend could be seen in Muslims if there were a mass imigration such as there has been with Hispanics. Just an influence of a few points difference could make the difference in Presidential and Congressional elections.

Already, there have been some calls in other countries for dual systems of law with Islamic Sharia law working side by side with the already established systems of law in some countries. This is similar to the influence exerted by African Americans on the political and legal system in The US. A massive influx of Muslims could have the same influence and such practices as female genital mutilation and mandatory male circumcision could become reality.

"and should be against the law" from an earlier post

In much of Europe it is practically illegal to circumcise baby boys or minor males with an exception for Muslims and Jews to do religious circumcisions. Many countries in Europe, especially Sweden and Finland, want to make it illegal to circumcise all baby boys and all minor males, but they can't because of too much protesting from Muslims and Jews. If a country in Europe tried to make it illegal to circumcise all minor males, there would be huge protests and huge violent riots from Muslims and Jews. Although it won't be any time soon, I think some day circumcising minor males will be illegal in the U.S. with an exception for religious reasons and extremely rare medical need.

According to the Old Testament males are supposed to be circumcised as a religious sacrifice, which is why Muslims and Jews do circumcisions. But according to the New Testament, because Jesus died on the cross for us, males are no longer supposed to make the sacrifice of circumcision. In Galatians 5: 1-6 it says "If you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you."

Religion has been given far too much respect. Eventually it will be illegal across the board hopefully. Religious freedom in the US doesn't extend to practices that harm infants and other people. It disgusts me that Jews and Muslims find it such an integral part of their faith to harm and mutilate infants. Freedom of religion? What freedoms are being expressed when a newborn infant is having his genitals cut off? Who's freedoms are the ones that are being infringed upon when a child is protected from such a monstrosity?

You can't claim freedom of religion when it involves taking someone else who is unable to consent to what is being done to them. It makes no difference who the child's parents are. It makes no difference what the intentions are. It's 100% unnecessary cutting of erogenous tissue.

What more perfect a crime is it to take something away from someone that is theirs by all the rights in the world before they even know/experience it. Then it's victims don't feel victimized. They grow up feeling as if they aren't missing anything and that they are somehow superior to those who are genitally intact. This is the most wretched crime against humanity ever devised due to how widespread and under-the-radar it has been for so long.

Very interesting article and the comments are fantastic. I do not have children yet, but this will certainly make me think differently about circumcision.

Thanks to the writer and the people that have commented. What a great thing to know 'being a woman'. Also to the writer, thank you for the additional tip at the end...:-)

Several countries have approached this. There have been restraints enacted in South Africa. The Australian Medical Association in concert with The Children's Commissioner has sponsored legislation in that country. Courts in Germany and Finland have rendered judgments putting limits on it. Vietnam has outlawed it and The Oregon Supreme Court stopped the circumcision of a 9 year old boy where the father wanted him circumcised and the mother didn't. It gave the decision to the boy and the circumcision was never performed.

Much as Sweden was the first to ban female circumcision and most of the world's developed nations followed suit in the next twenty years, some country will ban minor male circumcision and the other nations will eventually follow their lead.

In just the last 20 years, the circumcision rate has fallen by almost half. When these boys reach maturity and start forming their own families, it is highly unlikely they will circumcise their sons. With those that are seeing the truth, the circumcision rate will plummet. Evidence of this has been seen in Canada that once had a 57% circumcision rate. As a result of better informed parents and physicians, the circumcision rate had dropped to 17% by 2002 when Ryleigh McWillis died as a result of his circumcision. This was the wake up call to both parents and physicians and in the next two years, the circumcision rate dropped to 6%. In some (most) areas of Canada it is very difficult to find a physician who will circumcise a newborn these days.

The medical profession has always been the driving force behind this cultural practice. An early 1980's study performed at a military hospital in Hawaii to quantify the effect of parents getting correct and accurate information about infant circumcision. At the begining of the study, the infant circumcision rate was 80%+. The circumcision rate immediately dropped to 20% and remained at this level throughout the study and only grew slowly after the study. This tells us that parents want to do what is best for their children and will mostly take that information to make the decisions. It also tells us that their physican can be the most influential factor in making that decision and that these physicans are giving them either no information, useless information or wrongful information.
