I would donate any junk food I had around the house. If you are serious about losing weight then this will be your first step.

Unfortunately, there are no diet or type of exercise that will suit everybody and produce the same results. A person's physiology dictates if a diet and exercise would work. For example, now a days there are more people with food allergies than without. Those who have food allergies most likely won't lose weight to the same degree while eating the same healthy diet. What is healthy for one person can be poison for another and prevent weight loss. I think that a key to successful weight loss is to find out what physiological factors prevent you from losing weight, establish a diet which is healthy for YOU, correct the imbalances and you will see positive results.

In addition to diet high in carbohydrates and sugars it could be also medical reason why you cannot lose weight. Thyroid issues, digestive problems, adrenal dysfunction, imbalance of neurotransmitters, toxicity overload and hormonal imbalances are all can make it difficult to lose weight or even impossible. Diet and exercise alone do not work if your body doesn't function properly. If you have already tried to lose weight in the past but couldn't do it may be you should get checked by your physician before you start with a new attempt.

It's been a while since you posted this but I hope you've been successsful in your weight loss efforts. I lost a lot of weight in the last two years and now just have a habit of eating well. A few tips: significantly reduce sugar inatke (no sodas, sugary coffee drink), excercise (even a little) multiple times a week, don't skip meals ever, and start reading nutrition labels on everything you eat. Lastly, get informed! The more you educate yourself on healthy foods, etc., the easier it will be. Good luck!

Hi ware_mariea,

Thanks for your question. First thing, it's important to have a positive attitude.  Second, to set a reasonable weight loss goal for yourself. It's important to see a doctor if you plan on starting any exercise program.

Here's a link that might be helpful.
