Hi bronson6
Thank you for starting this Group!
I transferred your post to a thread, I think you accidentally put your question in the Group Info section where it cannot easily be seen. I'm not sure if this is a medical question or not - did you mean to ask a question in our ASK section? This part of EmpowHER is for support groups for a particular named condition, I think you may have meant this as a health question for our community boards? Please let me know!
Susan

Hello, i also had this problem right before i turned 39. I had heavy periods with big clots not too large but still not good most in my early 30's. When i was 38 i started a normal period they were always painful but this one was so bad i missed some work a few days. I had the normal run of 5 days and stopped. two weeks later i started up again didn't think anything of it always had irregular periods since the birth of my last baby in 2000. This time the bleeding increased and the pain was bad. I was at work and the bleeding was so bad i was running to the bathroom every 15 to 20 mins to check my pad or change it. I went to hospital and they ran some tests and could not find any problems like cysts or fibroids. The doctor suggested i have a ablasion (spelling ) done . It was a procedure where they scrap the uterus. He told me because of this procedure i could not become pregnant safely so i would also have to have my tubes cut. That did not make me happy as i just divorced and lost my kids to a lying jerk so not having anymore kids later upset me, but given my age i went with the procedure. After the procedure i now have very low bleeding you know that time you get the brown blood and its really light. No more pain at all and the periods last about 3 to 5 days i even wear a panty liner instead of normal pads. So if you don't mind the not have anymore children fact or going through the procedure which was not that bad it was outpatient surgery the tube tying was the problem with recovery mostly. Was through the belly button so not too bad either. This might be what you want to do if you don't have any complications with the bleeding like cysts or fibroids or anthing else of concern.

hi, i was in my 40's also, had the same heavy bleeding, clots the size of my fis. I was diagnosed wih cevical cancer. You need to get the bleeding under control. You can literally bleed to death. I myself came close.
