What is wrong?

By February 3, 2011 - 11:19am

My husband and i have been married going on 3yrs and we both want a child,we do not use condoms, nor any type of preventable things so that we will not get pregnant. In the pass i have had issues with my cycle and was prescribed to birth control for 3months.Now my cycles r normal, but we have spent to much money on hpt thinking that i was pregnant. This is becoming a stressful situation in my life.I really want a child. What is wrong,What should I do.

If your periods are not regular chances are that he won't need to be tested. If they were and you still weren't conceiving they would probably advise getting him tested. It took 18 months for my husband and I to have our second child, I'm 21 and he's 23. My cycles weren't regular and they never had him tested since it was likely that my body was the cause. They may want to test him, just to cover all the bases before doing any extensive treatment for you, but you can always not get it done.

I am under 35. My husband and I have been trying for 8 months. I've never had a regular cycle. I get my period about every 2 weeks. Hormone therapy did not work to regulate my period. I was on different birth controls for that purpose for 6 years. Nothing seems to help.

My question, is if my husband will need to be tested for his personal fertility when I go to see the Reproductive Endocrinologist/Fertility Specialist. I have health insurance, but he does not. And, if he does, does anyone know what the average cost is?

Hi onlyoneme! Im also 24 and trying for a baby, only since january though so its still early days. I think you should go to your doctors and see what he thinks, he/she might not feel the need to run any tests just yet. You are still young after all. Are you stressing about it? If you are, then that can affect fertility too. Im Diabetic so I need to really be on top of my blood sugars right now and that really worries me, I worry what damage I might do to my (future) unborn child. Not intentionally!! Obviously, just high blood sugars happen sometimes. I hope everything works out well for you and your hubby and you get a little bump very soon!
