Guided meditation a helpful way to release unneeded muscle tension and it's useful before dilator training. Here's a link to a free guided meditation: http://yourpaceyoga.wordpress.com/free-guided-meditation-for-pelvic-pain

Sometimes using dilators can promote a protective response if there has been a history of pain. We have the most incredible tool at our disposal - our mind. With mindfulness, we can work within our pain free zone, gradually increasing the size of the dilator. Most importantly, think of allowing the tissue to soften. Use your brain to retrain your pain response - it helps!

Description

Hi! I'm starting this group to create a community where we share advice and inspiring stories for people healing pelvic pain. Often there is shame and embarrassment around pelvic floor dysfunction and people think they will never get better. I'd like to see this group inspire those who are struggling and be a platform for people to share success stories. Thank you for your interest! Dustienne Miller, WCS, MPST, CYT PS- Let's be inspired by folks who have recovered from or are managing dysparenuia (painful sex), vulvar pain, interstitial cystitis, endometriosis, coccydynia, constipation, vaginismus, and chronic pelvic pain.
