Why do so many cancer survivors help others?
I wrote a news story for the site about a Phoenix area nurse and cancer survivor who's doing some incredible work to help nurses get in better shape so they can therefore provide more help to their patients. She met with nurses from more than 30 hospitals while - are you ready - doing a cross- country run. Pretty incredible, isn't it?
I know several cancer survivors who have shifted their lives to help others. Do you do that? Do you know people who've done that? What are your thoughts about people who choose to devote their lives to making the lives of others better?

I think it is a gift that grows so deep within us from experiencing the pain and fear. I believe it is the gift that grows that can not stay within once experienced. We all have an inner diesire to help many. I believe once one lives through cancer they can not help but to give back to others the love and support they received and the education to ensure others do not walk this road alone.September 29, 2010 - 7:01am
