some health care clinics are great, others not so much. in my state we have breast care health clinics but since i was not having my routine breast exams done there, when i was diagnosed with breast cancer, they said i was ineligable for breast cancer medicaid because i went through a breast cancer foundation for my breast exam. go figure!
I love public health clinics!! I am a fulltime nanny do I don't have medical insurance, but I still can take care of myself by going to the clinic!! : D
I was delighted to see eye exams in this list as it is missing from many other lists of reagular exams women should have. Thank you for including this important exam to remind women about the importance of eye health.
There have been recent reports, news stories, that have brought attention to the Pap Smear and Mammograms. The Pap test is the wrong test for early detection of cancers. McGill University in Montreal, Canada did a press conference on the news. The proper test is from the fallopian tubes. Waiting to hear here in BC what is to be done there. Also, down in the States, shown on "The Doctors" show a test where the patient has to have a substance injected (IV) in their hand then the mammo test performed, shows a much clearer picture of the breast. The cloudiness disappears and any tumors will be revealed. That was startling. I know well enough that medical and science are not exact and that we are all guinea pigs. Both tests,the Pap and Mammogram. are still important tests to be performed even though the result maybe too late. Ask your doctor about the new discoveries.

I know all these tests are important but I picked Mammogram because It was a mammogram that found my Breast Cancer and maybe saved my life.

Mammogram, the young healthy celebrity Mrs.Rancic is a good example of not taking good health as a sign of cancer not creeping up.
