Hello

I have the same condition and it has wrecked me for the last two years.

I finally found a remedy from earth clinic that worked and I have not had any itching or flareups since using it.

Its 1 tablespoon of castor oil, two drops of lemongrass oil, two drops of lavender oil, and two drops of frankincense oil.

lemongrass oil has been studied for its effectiveness against Candida (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14615795), which in my case, was an issue before the lichen happened. Its a POTENT oil and must be used sparingly and not alone (with the castor oil mix above).

I noticed before I found this remedy that wheat, sugar, dairy and alcohol would cause a major flareup, fwiw.

Good luck

Lichen Planus on the skin results in few bumps which are purplish in shading and flat topped. Very often, Lichen Planus Home Remedies for this issue is gone for controlling the causes and triggers. You could also try Lichen Planus Herbal Treatment for treating the discomfort caused by the condition.

From a holistic stand point when the skin becomes challenged you look inward for the answer.

Our skin is an outlet when our bodies can not rid itself of toxins or an unbalance has occured.

Suggestions might be: try incoporating coconut oil in to your diet. The Coconut Oil Miracle Book by Bruce Fife is a wonderful resource to learn more about helping the body heal.

A tsp of coconut oil with 3 drops of therapuetic grade lavender blended together and applied topically may be beneifical in offering relief.

Cleaning up your diet is also beneficial, removing all sugars, soda, processed foods. Clean meat, and no diary.

Other things you may try are raw apple cider vinegar in water to drink, coconut kefir to build healthy flora in the intestines. This is where over 70% of your immune system is found. And in some research your condition is thought to be auto immune.

Chalyce, thank you so much for the info. Although I use only coconut oil for cooking and as an all over body lotion, and to help with the terrible itch, I have not used it with lavender. I will do so, and carry out the other recommendations you advised. Thanks again.

Warm wishes

Hi AnnaMay,

Some natural treatments for Vulvar Lichen Sclerosis are:
Vitamin E, Vitamin A Emulsion, Evening Primrose Oil.

As far as changing your diet-- Eating more fish, nuts, veggies, beans, and drinking lots of water may help as well as cutting back on carbs.

Hope this help and remember that you should always consult your doctor or inform him of whatever it is you're taking, even if it is a herbal supplement.

Best Wishes!

Rosa

what a lot of crap!
Sorry, but taking advise from a dietitian about what happens to food as it interacts with the body's biochemistry (once it passes the lips) is like asking a podiatrist about brain surgery. Don't.

Vitamin E, A and Evening Primrose oil are NOT "natural treatments for LS. There is no "treatment" for LS and these products help that body as a whole - the E, A and EPO do not "treat" anything. And drinking "lots of water" is so old school. Why not add health-fortifying herbs to this water and make it worth something? As for avoiding carbs - that is the worst advise. Eating proteins and fats have led to lots of diseases that unrefined, gluten-freed carbs have helped! But the last part of the advise "always consult your doctor of what you're taking....even if its an herbal supplement" - is by far the most laughable: as if we medical doctors know the first thing about herbs - or any alternative means for that matter! LOL

Hi Rosa,
Thank you for the great advise. Just one ? What is Vit. A Emulsion and is it readily available worldwide, or must I get a compound chemist to make it for me? Here in Australia we have some strict laws regarding Natural Medicines available for sale, but we can purchase most from overseas including USA with little or no custom problems etc. I take daily high doses of Vits. C B E compounded into powder form. I also take 600gm Lipoic Acid as a detox.
I will follow your advice regarding my diet.
Regards
AnnaMay
