Hi Smitch,

Thanks for reaching out to EmpowHER!

Anytime you have sex without contraception it does increase your chances of pregnancy. Since you are having sex and don't want pregnancy, that is good that you are using some type of birth control with a condom.

A woman's period comes every 28 days on average. Do you have any idea when her usual period is?

I would wait until that time to see if she gets her period. Since you used a condom and pulled out, the chances of pregnancy are much lower than they would be with unprotected sex.

The real way to know if someone is pregnant is by taking a pregnancy test. if your girlfriend does not get her period by her usual time, try taking a pregnancy test. Many packs come with 2 so you can test multiple times.

A late period can be caused by many things other than pregnancy including travel, birth control, weight gain, exercise, stress, and illness.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Best,
Erin
