Hello Anonymous,

You are not pregnant. There was no need to take Plan B because there was never a risk for pregnancy. You would not have become pregnant by having intercourse on the last day of your period. You need to be ovulating in order to conceive.

The vaginal spotting is the result of taking the pill.

I'm a little worried. I have taken the plan B pill only twice and it has caused a period every time. Because of this i'm on my third period in the last month, and it's not just spotting, but my full on period. is this healthy/unhealthy? should I go see a doctor?

Hello Anonymous,

You should contact your doctor today. It appears that you have caused a serious upset in the hormonal balance that regulates your menstrual cycle. Never take an emergency contraceptive more than once during a one month menstrual cycle.

So last month I ended up taking 2 EC the first time was because I was on my 5th pack of lutera bc and my bf didn't used condom I thought I wasn't protected. The second time I used it was on the 28th of dec also so I took 2 EC in the same month because I took advil, cetirizine and 2 vibora de cascabel capsules only that time for acne. I'm worries that it could interfere with my bc. I've been searching online but haven't found anything please help. I seen my bf on the 27 we had sex at 12:45 which was now Saturday I took The EC on the 28th on Sunday the day after I started cramping and still am I'm in my second week of the pills just started today.

On the 12th of December, my friend and I had unprotected sex early in the morning. Four or five hours later we went to the store and bought plan B. Five days later I had bleeding from taking the pill, I knew it wasn't my period because I just finished it the day we had sex. My question is, considering I took it very early and bled, what do you believe the chances are that I may or may not be pregnant? I'm kind of freaking out.

Hello Anonymous,

The vaginal bleeding after taking Plan B indicates the pill was effective in preventing pregnancy. However, there was no need to take it because you had sex on the last day of your period. Ovulation had occurred at least 14 days before and without an egg, there was nothing to fertilize and no conception.

Do not be surprised if your next period is late. Taking an emergency contraceptive can upset your menstrual cycle.

Hello Anonymous,

Since your menstrual cycle was upset, knowing when your next period will come is a challenge. All you can do is wait. If your next period is late by more than one week, take an early response pregnancy test.

Because you had vaginal bleeding two days after taking Plan B, you know it worked.
