Hi there

I got my period on the 10 of Novemeber. About a week after i had sex with my boyfriend and took plan B...i took it twice because we had sex 2days in a row. After i took plan b a few days later i got my period which was on Nov 24th..i had a feeling that is was my period because it was 5days, the usual days of my period. I am now in a position where i want to have a child, we have had sex about 4days in a row and all times ejaculation had occured...i recently took a pregnancy test and it was negative.. this confuses me because it was only about a week ago my bf came in me. I am really concerened can someone tell me if i should be counting my periods from the 10th or the 24th i know its pretty confusing...

Okay, i had my period on November 7th, I had sex with my boyfriend ( protected ) a few days later , and the condom came off inside me, there was no cum inside the condom when we got it out. We went to the drugstore that night and i took plan B. About a week after i took the pill i had what seemed like a period again. It is now December 7, (exaclty a month since i got my first period) and i'm worried because i've been having symptoms of pregnancy, like swollen breasts, lower back pain, fatigue, and the weirdest cravings.. am i just being paranoid, or is it possible im pregnant? Please help !

Pat's right, taking plan B can alter your menstrual cycle. The article explains it all, so you may want to give it a good read so you will know what is probably going on. As you know, period symptoms can mimic early pregnancy symptoms, so more than likely you're experiencing pre-menstrual symptoms.

If you're spotting, does that mean plan B is working?

Hi KC,
As Susan Cody commented to another Anonymous user, "Spotting can occur within 24 hours or even a week later. It varies woman to woman. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you are still worried or check out Plan B's website for more info."
Hope it helps!

Hi KC,
Plan B works immediately. If you were only off your period for 3 or 4 days, it is doubtful that you were ovulating at the time of having sex. For the next couple months, you may experience abnormal periods which is common after taking Plan B, so be prepared for irregular periods.

I hope this helps your concerns, let us know if you have further questions.

Thank you missie.
Does that mean that there is no chance for me getting pregnant?
I couldn't stop thinking about it and it's driving me insane!
I will NEVER EVER do that again!

Hi Anonymous,
Taking Plan B is meant to be "last chance" protection against getting pregnant, not regular birth control. It does work, so try and remain calm. If you plan to be sexually active, you may want to investigate birth control methods (condom, spermicide, birth control pills, etc.) so you will protected next time and won't have to resort to Plan B.
