My bf and I had unprotected sex right atfer I just ended my period I took plan B pills and the next day I got my period again even though I just had it 3 days earlier. But now I still haven't gotten my period. Is it possible that I'm just late?

Can anyone please help me? I'm thinking I'm just going to get my period really late. Or is it possible that I am pregnant? Answers asap please.

Hi Anon,

Plan B will cause your period to either come early or late. I've noticed a trend based on questions by our members that Plan B will cause an early period first and then the one that follows is usually about a week late. Wait one more week to see when your period arrives and remember that stress will also delay your period.

Keep us posted,

Rosa

Rosa-
My period came today. With your reassurance I was able to try not to stress about it. Thank you.

Hi Anonymous,
Having your period is a good sign of not pregnant. You may experience irregular periods for your next couple cycles and this is completely normal, so don't be too concerned. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask.

Good luck,
Missie

Ok, so I started my period June 8 and ended June 13 and had sex that night with no condom and im not on birth control and i'm pretty sure the guy didn't pull out in time. This happened monday night, early tuesday morning and later that day around noon I took plan B. I was told I have nothing to worry about and I heard plan B messes with your periods and I started mine again today Jun 18, 5 days later from when I ended. Does this mean I am ok, or do i still have to worry until my normal period would start in July?

I had my period right before memorial day. It was spotty for a few days then got heavier on the Friday of hat weekend. It only lasted til Tuesday. I had unprotected sex Saturday morning and went out within the hour to get Plan B one step. I took right away. I started bleeding yesterday 6/9/11. is this my period? It's pretty heavy and a reddish brown. I am not on bc anymore as I wanted to get away from the hormones. we are always good about condoms since but it was bad judgement on Saturday. I have never taken Plan B before so I don't know what to expect. I wouldn't be pregnant would I? Are there longer term effects I should be aware of?

Hi Anonymous,
It sounds like you did exactly what you were supposed to do. It is likely you won't get pregnant since you used a condom, and then also used PlanB when the condom broke. Great job being on top of things!
Here are a couple articles that may provide some insight for you so you know what to expect and can try to prevent a repeat event in the future: Emergency Contraception Update, 2010, and Help! The Condom Broke During Sex: How to Prevent "Wardrobe Malfunctions".
