I had the same problem. My period ended on July 3rd and my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex... I took plan b the next morning. Two days later I got my period again. This past weekend ( July 14 ) we had sex again but used a condom. Im concerned that I could be pregnant and I am too young to be a parent. Help!

Hello Anonymous,

Some women will experience changes in their menstrual cycle after taking an emergency contraceptive, such as Plan B. Their periods start earlier or later than normal. Menstrual flow can be lighter or heavier than usual.

The vaginal bleeding that occurred after taking the pill was a side effect. Wait one more week. If you do not start your period, take a pregnancy test.

I'm a bit worried and I'm hoping for the best. Last month I had unprotexted sex, the next day within 13 hours I took plan b one step. About 5 to 7 days later I noticed vaginal bleeding but it only lasted 3 and a half days. I was supposed to get my period on June 20 but I didn't and now I'm 15 days late. Should I worry about it ir is it just all in my head? In case I have to take a pregnancy test is it too soon to tell o should I wait a little longer?

Hello Anonymous,

I do not think you are at risk of being pregnant. You started your period after having unprotected sex. There was no reason to take Plan B. But you did and are experiencing one of the side effects of the pill. Some women notice changes to their menstrual cycle after taking Plan B. As a side effect, your period can start earlier or later than normal. Menstrual flow can be heavier or lighter than normal.
It may take a month or two for your period to return to normal.

Hi, on June 9th I had my period and then a week after (16th), I was "fooling" around with my guy and he put it half way in. As this was my first time ever doing anything, i didnt expect anythingto ever happen so I was on no protection so I took Plan B 3 hrs later because I was nervous. I ended up getting a second period 6 days later (on the 22nd) and it was a bit heavier and last the same as a normal period. Then on July 1st, the same thing happened again but he put it all the way in and he tried to pull our before he pre-ejaculated but hes still not 100% sure that nothing went in, so I took Plan B 9 hrs later. My question is, do you think I'm okay then and when should i be expecting my period this month, around the 9th again like my first real period or around the 22nd where I got the period caused by Plan B. Also, If is tart bleeding in a few days, does that mean that I am not pregnant, and how will I know if that is my "real period" or another period caused by taking Plan B? thx u

Hello Anonymous,

If you got your period two days after taking Plan B, you are not pregnant. Changes in the menstrual cycle are a side effect that some women experience after taking Plan B. Changes can include your period starting later than normal.
