Has anyone had severe low back pain after seasonal flu shot?

I took a mandatory flu shot at work Oct. 19, 2009 on my left arm. I had chills and a fever of 102* along with left arm aching pain, and a bout of severe low back pain within the first 2 weeks after receiving the shot. All other symptoms have since dissipated except for the severe low back pain and a strange wobbliness in my legs. The low back pain is bad enough to where I could not move by myself for a week, and now cannot really sit or bend without a high degree of constant pain.

2018 I've been working out with a personal trainer since January. I'm in great shape and always have maintained a healthy weight. I got the flu shot on 10/11/18 and on 10 15 / 18 started slowly feeling back pain increase to the point where I couldn't walk on 10 16 and was carried out to the car by my husband and brought to the ER. (Nothing triggered it) They evaluated me and determined I wasn't dying and sent me home. ( Still unable to walk) it's now 10/ 29 and I can walk but I can't bend over or turn. It's still very touchy and painful. I had an MRI and haven't gotten the results yet. I'll assume I'm not dying or they would have called asap. I meet with my doctor This week. I also now have a horrendous cold! So next year I'll take my chances and skip the shot. This doesn't seem coincidental.

I had the same symptoms after my recent flu shot from Kaiser San Leandro. 1st it was just severe arm pain. Then I had a fever and aches in my body with sinus pressure. By the 3rd or 4th day, the pain hit my lower back. It's been a feeling of discomfort for the past 3 or 4 days and haven't been able to sleep, stand, walk, stretch... Nothing but constant pain pills seems to be relieving the aches in my lower back and numbness I'm experiencing all the way to my toes. Called the Hospital and they told me it's not the flu shot??? They couldn't be more wrong, something needs to be done about this; it's absolutely crazy.

This shit is unreal. Matches to a T.

I am healthy late 30s, regular exercise at the gym and running. Here is what is common to me:

1. Severe lower back pain, hard to walk, very painful to even cough or take a deep breath, tun side... perhaps the worst (or at least different from) I have ever experienced. Noticed late evening on the day of the shot, worse the morning after, even worse today which is the day 2 nights after
2. Got shot in walk in CVS, high on the shoulder, make shift injection side, moved my shirt from neck down resulting in injection higher up on the shoulder. Nurse & me both in a hurry with long queue. Injection more painful than usual.
3. Got the shot while still recovering a flu infection. Have gotten flue shots for decades now on and off but nothing like this ever happened.
4. My lower back muscles (where pain seems to be) may be tender from the dead lifts and such but absolutely nothing was noticeable before I got the short and I have doing these exercise for years.

My fiancé had the same issue for the past 48 hours after the flu shot, this unusual side effect is not reported by the health system. I believe it’s highly associated with flu vaccine even if they claim it’s not.

I posted December 15 re:back pain due to flu shot. I went to a ortho unit at my local hospital and had a MRI done Doctor reviewed test and stated my back looked normal for a 66 yr. old male. Bulging disc in L3 was only abnormality with possible spinal stenosis. Stared a steroid pac on 12/26 and scheduled a steroid injection for 12/28. Also began a PT program focusing on core and posture. Pain began to subside on the 30th and I am now almost back to normal. Every medical professional said the flu shot had nothing to do with the issue. I remain convinced that the flu shot triggered the back pain, too many anecdotes out there regarding the problem .

I recently got a flu shot and my back is killing me. I'm an avid hiker and hike 4 to 5 miles a day, longer on weekends. I can't even walk a mile without having to turn around and go home. The pain is absolutely horrible. The flu shot is the only thing I've done different. Never again

I got the flu shot in October this year. (2018) It is only the third flu shot Ive ever gotten, and I am 54.

A week after getting it, I began having severe tailbone pain, hip pain, knee pain and a weak leg. Also a strange tingling sensation on my tongue .I couldn't stand up or sit down without holding onto something, including the toilet.

The doctor took x-rays and said it was scoliosis, but I have always had scoliosis and never had this pain. She prescribed physical therapy.

After about 4 weeks it seems to be improving on its own. I'm supposed to see the physical therspist in December, but if I keep improving, I doubt I'll go. Tailbone still hurts.

Jan 1st I decided to clean up my act. Went off sugar, caffeine, alcohol (not that I drank that much), wheat and dairy. I went to get a B-12 shot and decided to get a flu shot while I was there. Boy was that a mistake. I experienced the same horrendous low back pain a few days later. Had me in tears. I went to the chiro who made the connection to the flu shot. The coffee headache was gone in a few days. The back pain has not gone away! The other night it was so bad I almost called 911. I'm athletic and in good shape and never have pain in my low back and never had any pain like this. Yesterday I went to the acupuncturist who treated me to help my body process the poisons of the flu shot. She said the back pain comes from a neurological reaction to the shot. It contains metals like aluminum which everyone's body doesn't tolerate. The acupuncture treatment helped. She also recommended soaking in epsom, sea salts and baking powder. Today I'm better. Not 100%, but able to sit. I recommend getting strong needles and drinking lots of herb tea and water to flush it out. Never again! BTW Kaiser (where I got the shot) wanted me to come in but totally poo poo'ed the idea that this had anything to do with the shot. I went alternative medicine instead since I didn't think I would get anywhere and there isn't much western medicine could do. Felt horrible! (Female, 56)

This is exactly what happened to me. I got mine from Kaiser. Apparently they're denying that the flu shot causes these side affects. It's going to take a lot of work. But I'm determined to find resolve.
