Can i get pregnant without deep penetration?

Hi, I'm 23 years old lady and I'm still a virgin. I have a bf and we've been together for more than 4 years. We never had 'real' penetration or sexual intercourse (saving it for the marriage). But today we made out and he only put his tip into me (only like half an inch to an inch) but did not cum in me. I am just a little concerned and went online to search for answers, and some people even mentioned that with what i've done, i'm actually not a virgin anymore! but no pain no blood flow happened.

Anyway, my question is, will i get pregnant this way? isit really true that if sperm was only near the vagina, i will get pregnant?

only supportive and real answers please.. i know i shud've used contraception, but it was our first time, and we didn't really planned for it to happen.

thanks..

Hi Blanky321,
Thanks for joining EmpowHER. It is very unlikely you could "feel pregnant" a few days after having intercourse. It takes roughly 10-14 days for a fertilized egg to travel to the uterus and implant, and even at that time a woman may not have symptoms until she's already missed her period or later. If you miss your period, you can take a home pregnancy test, or call your doctor for more information or to receive a test.
Good luck, and let us know how you're doing.

Hi anonymous,
Anytime you have unprotected sex (even if it's just the tip), you risk unwanted pregnancy. We are not doctors, and we can't tell you odds. If he didn't ejaculate inside of you, that is considered the withdrawal method of birth control. It is about 70% effective at preventing pregnancy when done correctly. The problem is that there remains that 30% chance that if there was any pre-cum on his penis, that could potentially get you pregnant. The risk is slim, but it's there. In the future if you don't want to get pregnant, you may want to pick up some condoms or get on birth control pills. You can still use the withdrawal method in addition to make sure you don't get pregnant, and so you won't need to worry in the future.

If there is genital-to-genital contact there is a risk of pregnancy. With no penetration, there is very low risk. As Rosa suggested, if it has been within 72 hours since this event, you can request emergency contraception from a pharmacy.
For more information, please review these articles thoroughly: and Outercourse, Dry Humping, Dry Sex, and The Misconceptions of Sex.
Hope the additional information helps.
