So here's the thing. I had my period on July 8 and it ended on July 12. I had protected sex on July 16, yes, it was with condom, it did not break, it has no tears. As i got home, I took the ecp already probably 9 hours after the incident. 7 days later, bleeding came. It lasted for four days, bright red, as heavy as my normal period. And right now, august 28, I still do not have my period. Someone told me that after a breakthrough bleed, you must have your period next month not being late more than 5 days. It's now 5 days late and I still do not have my period. I only have too much white discharge which turns to yellow, back pain, tender breast and about 2 nights ago, I noticed a small brown spot on my undie. Could I be pregnant? Pls answer me :(((

The bleeding you experienced was not your regular period but a side effect of the drug. Tender breasts, nausea, cramping, and back pain are also side effects. Finally, EC can also disrupt your regular period. You are not pregnant. You simply need to give it time and your period will return to normal.

Hi, thanks for your response. But, can my period be very late after a breakthrough bleed? I have taken plan b before but my period just came on time. Thank you ma'am for your assurance.

Yes, it can be very late. Some girls even miss their next period altogether, yet it comes back again the next month.
