For the benefit of our readers, AI stands for Aromatase inhibitors (AIs) - these are a class of drugs used in the treatment of breast cancer in women who have already gone through menopause.
AIs are taken to either stop the body's creation of estrogen or block the action that estrogen takes on receptors.
I understand that breast cancer patients become well educated not only on the disease but it's treatment. I'd be very interested to know why you are wary of this treatment in terms of your research - this can help our readers too. Let us know your thoughts.
Radiation obviously has it's benefits (killing cancer cells) and it's cons (killing off the healthy parts of the body too, as well as side effects like sickness, nausea, lack of appetite etc). Let us know more about your concerns there too.
I do hope other readers who went through a lumpectomy and decided against other traditional treatments read your post and give you their input.
