HERWriter Guide

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

We could only guess if your loved one is nearly the end of life. If the person is not taking in nutrients then it could be a sign that the end is near. Dementia is also a sign.
When it comes to the end stages (known as stage 5) of this disease, pain management and keeping the patient comfortable is key. The person will need full help with eating, drinking, will likely be unable to move on his/her own and will to be toileted and bathed by caregivers. They are usually dependent for care at every level. Stage 5 could last months or much longer. The patients doctor can help more.
Best,
Susan
