Hello. Thank you for posting.

We cannot diagnose or treat you. No one over the internet can. Meningitis is usually caused by a viral infection but can also be bacterial or fungal. Vaccines can prevent some forms of meningitis. Symptoms include a headache, fever, and stiff neck.

Depending on the cause, meningitis may get better on its own, or it can be life-threatening, requiring urgent antibiotic treatment. You need to follow up with your doctor. Did you relay your suspicions to him or her? They can test you for meningitis. Blood is drawn to check the white and red blood cell counts. A chest X-ray film may be obtained to look for signs of pneumonia or fluid in the lungs. Other tests may be performed to look for other sources of infection. Spinal tap: A spinal tap, or lumbar puncture, is necessary to diagnose meningitis.
