What he takes depends on what is causing the itching. Is this itching sudden? Is he itching all over? If so, he may be having an allergic reaction to something. Or is it localized itching (an arm or a leg)? If so, a bug bite may be to blame. General skin itchiness without a rash is usually caused by dry skin, in which case moisturizing the skin can help.
