Ulnar nerve entrapment occurs when the ulnar nerve (the nerve associated with one of the lower arm bones) becomes compressed or irritated. This pressure can cause numbness or pain in the elbow, hand, wrist or fingers. Tendonitis or bursitis might cause pain in these areas as well.
