Four months is indeed a long time. Ringworm is spread by skin-to-skin contact or by touching an infected animal or object. The treatment for ringworm is antifungal medications. In most cases, you’ll have to use the medicines on your skin for 2 to 4 weeks to make sure you kill the fungus that causes ringworm. It’ll also lower your chances of it coming back.
