If you notice bright red blood in your urine, or if your urine has turned red or brown because it has blood in it, see your doctor. The medical name for blood in the urine is hematuria. Some causes might be a bladder infection, kidney stones, or kidney infection. Cancer is also possible more in adults over 50.
