This is a big part of the medical picture, Regina is creating a clear voice in the noise of medical situations. I felt very much the same way with an elderly friend who was dying, I did not feel she was being treated but rather timed...From her elder care apartment to the hospital to the rehab center (part of the elder-care apartment) back to hospital for a full three days before she can be brought to hospital again... Even as your own advocate you are not aware of the back story the hospital is concerned with mainly who to bill and what is the rate.
