Hello Jessica,

Thank you for reaching out to our community for information and comparison of Rhinocort and Zyrtec.

Budesonide is the active ingredient of RHINOCORT AQUA Nasal Spray. It is an anti-inflammatory synthetic corticosteroid. It is indicated for the treatment of nasal symptoms of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children six years of age and older.

Cetirizine, which is an antihistamine is the active ingredient in Zyrtec. It reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose.

Zyrtec is used to treat cold or allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, or runny nose, and to treat itching and swelling caused by chronic urticaria (hives).

Zyrtec is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Cetirizine can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not use Zyrtec without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Jessica, Rhinocort and Zyrtec offer relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergies and rhinitis. One is a spray while the other is a pill.

According to Drugs.com, there are no interactions in their database between Rhinocort and Zyrtec.

It is important for all to check with their physicians before starting a new medication especially if taking other medications at the same time.
