Hello Anonymous. Thank you for coming to us with your concern about heavy nose bleeding that has lasted for 10 days.

You must call your primary care physician today. Nose bleeding that lasts for that long and is heavy needs to be evaluated by a doctor.

The nose contains many blood vessels. These blood vessels are located close to the surface in the front and back of the nose. They are very fragile and bleed easily.

Probable causes include:
1) trauma to the nose
2)allergic rhinitis triggered by exposures to allergens, such as pollen
3) untreated high blood pressure
4) blowing your nose frequently or too forcefully, such as when you have a cold or virus
5) thrombocytopenia, which is a low platelet count
6) a deviated septum, which is a thin structure which separates the two sides of the nose

Regards,
Maryann
