The most common side effect of taking EC is vaginal bleeding/spotting. This happens after taking the pill and is not related to your regular period. Your next period may or may not be regular. Either way, do not panic. You took the EC correctly, so it will prevent pregnancy.
You may also experience cramping, tender breasts, nausea etc and although they mirror pregnancy symptoms they are actually just side effects of the drug.
