Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

Uterine growths are tissue enlargements in a woman's womb that can be either harmless (benign or non-cancerous) or dangerous (malignant- cancerous) tumors.

A polyp of the cervix (Uterine Polyps) is an example of a benign or non-Cancerous growth.  Uterine fibroids are also benign but can cause other annoying problems. There is also Adenomyosis, which is a thickening of the the uterus moving into the outer muscular wall.  This condition is common in women who have had uterine surgery.

Determining the cause is difficult and unique to the person.  There are key factors like race, lifestyle, weight, age, family history, etc.  Hormonal and genetic factors affect their growth.

 I hope this helps.

Be well,

~Gillette
