Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about the development of frequent nosebleeds.

Nosebleeds tend to occur during winter months and in dry, cold climates. They can occur at any age but are most common in children aged 2 to 10 years and adults aged 50 to 80 years.

Call your doctor since you are having three nosebleeds, which lasted 20 minutes, in the last three days.

Most commonly, a nosebleed is caused by dry nasal passages, irritation from a cold, or nose picking. However, less common causes include inability of the blood to clot, especially if you are taking a anticoagulant or blood thinning medication, and underlying liver disease and high blood pressure.

Regards,
Maryann
