As a registered nurse and mother of three young adults, I think it is important to be vaccinated. Side effects are minimal, such as redness and soreness at the injection site. No scientific studies have confirmed a link to serious conditions, such as autism, and vaccinations.
However, to all the skeptics, consider the consequences of not being vaccinated and the risk unvaccinated children and adults pose to the general public.
