Guide

Hello, and thank you for sharing your question with the community.  I am happy to hear that you have made the decision to quite, and I'd love to give you some tips to jump start your recovery.

The physical treatment for almost any drug after the individual has stopped taking it, is to start filling the body with nutrient rich foods.  This allows the body to release toxins more quickly.  The less packaged or processed foods you eat, the better!  Start reading the ingredients list of packaged foods before buying them.  Common ingredients in cereals are for example "niacinamide, and pyridoxine hydrochloride."   Nature did not intend for you to consume toxins of this kind, so if you see this, put it back on the self.  You know you've heard it before, fruits, vegetables, grass fed meats, and whole grains; these are the foods of life and health.

The next most important thing is to identify the triggers that cause you to want petrol and stay away from those scenarios as much as possible.  For example, if you know that being alone makes you depressed, then try not to be alone a much as possible.  Or another example is so stay away from the people you used to do petrol with.  Abstain from anything that would give you an incentive to start again.

Sometimes stopping one addition can only cause the beginning of another if you don't learn how to deal with the issues causing the stress, and depression.  Often, the addition isn't the main problem, it is the inability to face fears.  This is where good counseling, and having good people around you comes in play.

Remember that if you find yourself still wanting comfort in pain, it is completely normal, it is how you handle the pain that makes the difference.
