Guide

Hello Keisha lee,

My advice to you is to schedule an appointment with your gynecologist.

The reasons are:
A blood pregnancy test can be done. Levels of hCG, which is the hormone produced only during pregnancy can be done. A blood test is more accurate and can detect levels much earlier than a urine test.

You need to talk with your doctor and find another type of birth control. It is apparent that you cannot take birth control pills consistently. An IUD or Depo-Provera injection may be a better option for you.

According to Roger W. Harms, M.D. of the Mayo Clinic, taking combination birth control pills during early pregnancy doesn't appear to increase the risk of birth defects.

As a precaution, stop taking the birth control pill until the pregnancy is confirmed or ruled out. In the meantime, use another method of birth control, such as condoms.

Regards,
Maryann
