Most dryer sheets are made of a polyester sheet that is covered with chemicals.
Here are all-natural ways to reduce static cling:
Add 1/4 cup (or less) of either vinegar or borax to your laundry wash cycle or add 1/4 cup vinegar to the rinse cycle.
Look for dryers sheets made with vegetable-based surfactants, salt and natural scents. Seventh Generation manufactures such a product.
