Hi cjlewinski,
My iron levels are okay but I did suffer from perimenopause when I was 35. I had hot flashes, night sweats, depression, migraines, fatigue, memory loss, weight gain and concentration issues and overall just didn't feel good. My primary doc and ob at the time didn't help much and didn't think it was perimenopause because I was to young. Finally changed doctors and my new obgyn did check my iron levels (since I was so tired all the time) once the test showed that my levels were okay he ran blood work to check my hormone levels. Those came back and did indicate that I was in perimenopause. He then put me on estrogen (vivelle dot patch). Within days the symptoms got better and I was feeling human again and realized that I wasn't going crazy it was just my hormones!!! Have you had any blood work to check your hormone levels? Wondering if that would help with the right diagnoses for you.
Sorry that you are feeling the way you are! I hated it and honestly thought I was losing my mind. The worst for me was when I started a sentence and three seconds later couldn't remember what I was talking about. Oh, I have two kids and they thought I was crazy too!!
Hoping you find some answers so you can start feeling better!
One more thing they tested was my thyroid levels to make sure everything was okay there as well.
I found these articles thought they were interesting and hopefully will provide a little more information.
