Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER. Being a friend can be tough sometimes. As you know the damsel in distress act can only get a person so far. You are good to push her in the right direction. But recognize that ultimately, there isn't a whole lot you can do if she persists in her behavior. You can stand by her side, and keep trying to inspire her to fly straight, and get help from outside resources as needed (such as counseling, etc.). But eventually, it's got to be her to take control. Make sure helping her doesn't come as a detriment to your own well-being.
