Ryan White's story makes me extremely sad-- thank you for posting this Pat.
Although it makes me sad, mad, and every negative emotion for what he had to endure based on the ignorance about AIDS at the time, it makes me glad that he was brave enough to face the media and talk about the disease to educate people.
Just a couple of days ago I saw Elton John's "Me, myself, and I" special with my husband and he spoke about Ryan White as someone who had saved his life when he was so caught up with cocaine-- Ryan inspired him to do something productive and helpful for people living with AIDS as opposed to spending money on something that would kill him sooner rather than later and do no good for the people.
Sometimes stories such as Ryan White's help put reality into perspective and realize that there is so much more to life than waiting 15 minutes in line because there is only 1 cashier working.
