Hi Anonymous

Do you smoke? Sometimes smokers get benign sores in their mouths like this, but they can also get mouth cancer. If you smoke or chew tobacco or anything like that, I recommend you see your doctor as soon as possible. We have a page on oral conditions that may help you: https://www.empowher.com/condition/oral-conditions

It is possible that you ate something that poked you and a little bacteria got in there and you had a little abscess, which is technically what a pimple is. But there are also some health conditions that can cause little mouth sores, such as Lichen Planus or thrush, for instance.

I think it is a good idea to see your primary provider or a dentist because this is bothering you, painful, and new to you. This way you can rule out infection or any other medical problem. Odds are since there is only one it is nothing dangerous, but I'm a member of the better safe than sorry nurse club.

Good luck, and please let us know the outcome. It will help others.
