Okay Susan, I really hate replying to this post. I used to be one of those bad bad bad girls. Clearly though, 'looking back', there was a reason I was a bully type. The main issue is that I grew up in a rough neighborhood where a person had to be tough or else you were the person licking the cement for a lack of better terminology.
As I grew up, I maintain the toughness but the physical aspect is no longer necessary. Our brains are much more powerful. Here is another thing I thought about later in life. I was a VERY angry child with an abusive father. In the position I was in, I had no control over the intensity of the foul moods of my father. There was clearly a disconnect from society going through this growing up. In my thoughts now, I chose to be rude and bully other people as I could control the situation.
I know this may not make a lot of sense but at the time, it did. I was sick all the time and so unhappy, so it was easier for me to make other people's lives miserable since I had no control over my own. The bully in your situation may have underlying issues that might be of interest. Think about it.
