My first response when I read your post is that you may possibly be ovulating or have a yeast infection, but I'm not sure either of these things would cause a clear discharge to gush out of your vagina. It sounds like it was a pretty significant amount of fluid--is that right?
Since you had a shortened menstrual cycle it might be wise to take an at-home pregnancy test, just to be sure. I've heard of women who are newly pregnant having sort of a spotting type of cycle that first month and sometimes even beyond. And pregnancy can cause all sorts of discharges to occur.
Are you feeling any itching in your vagina? If so that might be due to a yeast infection.

If this keeps on happening it would probably be a good idea to give your physician a call. I believe a bit of discharge is usually pretty normal but if it's gushing you might want to see what is going on. Please post again to let us know how you are doing. Best in health, Michelle
