Anon - While you're in pain it would be best to not apply eyeliner as the movements in applying it, and removing it, will make your situation worse. Could you have had any type of substance on your hand when you rubbed your eyes? How old was the eyeliner you used? Could it possibly be contaminated and have caused an infection? Is the pain confined to your eyelid, or is the pain coming from your eye? Here's a link which provides a lot of information on what can cause eye pain: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/eye_pain/article_em.htm
It sounds like you've been dealing with this for about a week, and that the pain is getting progressively worse. It would be in your best interest to see an eye care specialist and get a professional exam and opinion. Will you let us know what you learn? We wish you the best outcome possible. Pat
